CityU in Alberta offers two campuses that cater to different preferences and educational needs, allowing students to choose an environment that aligns with their academic and personal goals.
1. Edmonton Campus: located on Jasper Avenue in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, within the city’s central business district. The campus is situated in a high-access urban area with close proximity to transit, parking, restaurants, and other downtown amenities.
2. Calgary Campus: is located in the downtown core of Calgary on the corner of 7 Avenue and 10 Street South West. The campus is conveniently accessible by Calgary transit and parking is readily available within a one-block radius of our location.

Michael Grienke, Enrollment Advisor – Alberta
With over two decades of experience in business, administration, and customer service management, Michael supports students and applicants by guiding them through the enrollment process. He enjoys facilitating each student’s journey towards achieving their program goals and watching them embark on a new and exciting career path. Michael appreciates diversity and inclusion and prides himself on being approachable and helpful. He enjoys hobbies such as reading, weightlifting, boxing, and has a passion for the care of animals. Academic Advisors
Mya Lee – Senior Academic Advisor – Calgary and Virtual campus
Mya holds a MA in Psycholinguistics and Counselling. Drawing on broad experience teaching and in administrative roles at various post‑secondary institutions, she has been a thoughtful and committed member of CityU since 2012. Alongside her academic career, Mya enjoys downhill skiing, golf, and traveling to warm destinations. With her children grown up, she has deepened her involvement in community service and volunteers regularly with local non‑profit organizations. She can be reached at: 587-881-7883.
Kamila Mlynczak – Academic Advisor – Calgary Campus
Kamila brings a thoughtful and student-centered approach to her work as an Academic Advisor. With a background in administrative coordination and team support, she is skilled in helping others stay organized, informed, and empowered. Kamila is known for her strong communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality and professionalism. She enjoys building positive relationships with students and guiding them through their academic journeys with care and clarity. Whether she’s helping someone navigate a challenge, or celebrate a milestone, Kamila brings empathy, efficiency, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. She’s also always eager to learn and grow in her role—both alongside her students and as part of the broader advising team.
In her free time, Kamila likes paddle boarding, taking her dog for hikes, camping, going to spas and yoga.
April O’Rourke, Academic Advisor – Alberta
April – Academic Advisor MC Alberta is a personable and dedicated Academic Advisor with nearly a decade of experience in education. Known for her supportive nature and strong commitment to service, she offers compassionate, student-centered guidance. April excels in assessing student needs and coordinating institutional resources to support academic success. Her strengths include effective communication, relationship-building, and a collaborative approach that enhances the overall student experience.
Outside of her academic career, April enjoys playing team sports, camping, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. She feels a deep connection to nature and is passionate about community, tradition, and the healing power of cultural connection.

Maika Tshimbalanga, Director of Enrollment and Student Success – Canada
Maika has extensive experience in the higher education and not-for-profit sectors over the past 20 years. For the past 14 years, Maika has been an integral part of the student services team in Canada and she is currently the Director of Enrollment and Student Success. Prior to joining CityU, she managed a crisis centre and led an admission team for a weekend university. She holds an M.A. in International Management from the Université de Montréal in Montréal, Québec and is also pursuing a doctoral degree in Education and Leadership (Ed.D.) with a particular interest in adult learners at Simon Fraser University. She is proficient in both official Canadian languages – English and French.
Maika’s primary responsibility is to ensure excellence and accountability in recruitment and advising across all sites and programs in Canada by leading the student success and advising team.
