Marien Farber, Enrollment Advisor – British Columbia

Marien Farber has worked in education for 13 years in various areas including international programs, internships and admissions. Originally from Mexico, she has lived and worked and or study in Italy, England, USA, Australia and Canada. Her passion is to assist students, and to simplify processes. She holds a B.A. in International Business, completed an exchange program at Tulane University. She is certified in bio-energy healing; her hobby is to make and decorate candles. Swati holds a Masters in Business Administration from Symbiosis International University in India and a Bachelor of Science Hons. From Panjab University, India.
Swati is a seasoned management professional with a total of nine years’ experience in the corporate sector including 6+ years dedicated experience in the Higher Education sector in India and Canada. She has exposure to various Education verticals including International Recruitment and Admissions, University Alliances, and Student Counselling.

Veronica Homer, Enrollment Advisor – British Columbia

Veronica has multiple years of experience working in post-secondary institutions across Asia and also the United Kingdom.
She has completed both an Undergraduate and Postgraduate qualification in the field of Accounting and Finance. She is also currently pursuing a Master of Education in Higher Education at the University of British Columbia.

Tomoko Poolthupya, Senior Academic Advisor – British Columbia

Tomoko holds an MA in Counselling Psychology from Tsukuba University in Japan and she is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Juliana De Matheus, Academic Advisor – British Columbia

Juliana holds a Master’s in Education in Curriculum Studies from UBC, an MBA in Human Resources, and an undergrad in Psychology. She has over 15 years of experience working in Education, as a teacher, a School Coordinator, Marketing Officer and Student Advisor.

Education has been Juliana’s passion since she was a child. She has always loved studying, reading, and learning with and from other people. Zuzana Fraser, Academic Advisor -British Columbia

Zuzana Fraser holds a Master’s degree in Education, with a focus on English and Slovak Literature and Linguistics. Over the past 19 years, she has built a diverse career in education, working across public and private schools as well as correctional facilities. Her experience spans teaching, pastoral care, departmental leadership, and academic management. Outside of work, Zuzana enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly rowing, cycling, and hiking. Maika Tshimbalanga, Director of Enrollment and Student Success – Canada

Maika has extensive experience in the higher education and not-for-profit sectors over the past 20 years.  For the past 14 years, Maika has been an integral part of the student services team in Canada and she is currently the Director of Enrollment and Student Success.  Prior to joining CityU, she managed a crisis centre and led an admission team for a weekend university.  She holds an M.A. in International Management from the Université de Montréal in Montréal, Québec and is also pursuing a doctoral degree in Education and Leadership (Ed.D.) with a particular interest in adult learners at  Simon Fraser University.  She is proficient in both official Canadian languages – English and French.
Maika’s primary responsibility is to ensure excellence and accountability in recruitment and advising across all sites and programs in Canada by leading the student success and advising team.

Andjelka Obradovic, Site Supervisor – Vancouver

Andjelka is originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she worked as a Pension Legal Advisor for 16 years advising clients on retirement and pension matters. Andjelka immigrated to Canada in 1996 with her late husband and two children.  She began her career at CityU in 1999 and she assists the advising team in providing support by serving as the primary contact for students and providing general administrative support. She also manages classroom scheduling and coordinates daily staffing operations. In her spare time, Andjelka loves to cook, travel, and dance.  She is part of a performing folk dance group, in which she actively dances three nights a week. Contact her at: 604-689-2489
