Term Faculty
Ian DeLong is an Area Counsellor with The Vancouver School Board. He has degrees in English Literature, Music, Education, and Counselling and completed his PhD at Simon Fraser University in 2019. His doctoral thesis focussed on songs and their capacity to encapsulate archetypes that connect to our lived experiences, essentially creating a soundtrack for our lived stories. Ian’s also done extensive research into songs and their therapeutic capacity in relation to narrative therapy. In his free-time Ian sings with Chor Leoni. He also likes to cook and spend time with his partner, family, and friends. He especially enjoys attending arts events and experiencing the culinary culture at any number of Vancouver’s great restaurants. Ian has travelled extensively and is looking forward to more future travels as he immerses himself in various cultures and attends arts events, museums, and partakes in culinary experiences on his travel adventures throughout the world.
