Associate Faculty Master of Counselling Vancouver Program
Dr. Vezina approaches her clinical and teaching positions from a humanistic and relational lens. Within her role as Associate Faculty in the Master of Counselling program, she is motivated to support and promote the well-being of entry-to-practice clinicians by fostering learning environments that promote safety, reflective practice, and professional identity development. She believes that connection and relationship are incredibly valuable in laying the groundwork for sustainable presence in this field of work.
Outside of her role at CityU, Dr. Vezina provides clinical supervision and client support at her group practice in Ontario, Canada. She is also a wife, mother of three children, and a foster mom who loves to read, sing, and play volleyball.
Research
Dr. Vezina’s areas of research and interest include; foster caregiver stress and well-being, self-compassion, secondary traumatic stress, and more.
Teaching
Given the importance of humanism and relational connection, Dr. Vezina’s teaching philosophy encompasses traditional direction along with reflective learning, practical real-world experiences, and intentional support.
