With 35 years of experience in education and 20 years as a Student Support Services Department Head, I have dedicated my career to supporting students, mentoring future counselors, and strengthening school counseling programs. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of mentoring and supervising numerous counseling interns, which has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. I am passionate about preparing future counselors not just with theoretical knowledge, but with the practical skills and self-care strategies needed to thrive in this field.
I believe that effective school counseling goes beyond student support—it requires the counselor to model a well-balanced, fully functioning life. To that end, I have built strong connections with experts in counseling and life coaching, allowing me to provide guidance on self-development, professional growth, and maintaining a sustainable career in school counseling. My teaching philosophy integrates real-world applications with research-based strategies to equip aspiring counselors with the confidence and skills they need to succeed in diverse educational settings.
I also love dogs, hiking and swimming.
