Currently working as a middle school counsellor at an independent school in Delta BC. Previously, I have worked as senior school counsellor and department head for student support services. Before my position at the current school, I worked as elementary school counsellor at an international school in Belgrade, Serbia. Clinical Counsellor for college students at a community college in Toronto, Ontario, and elementary and middle school counsellor at an international school in Caracas, Venezuela. The main responsibilities at all posts have included observation, identification and support of socio-emotional and mental health challenges that impact academic achievement and school performance. I have worked closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents in this mission. I have also been responsible for planning, promoting, and implementing schoolwide social-emotional learning and mental health literacy with the different age groups I have worked with.

Teaching
I am currently teaching Mental Health Issues in Schools. From a theoretical standpoint, I am drawn to social constructionism and Vygotsky’s ideas. This, in combination with providing an optimum environment that includes accommodation to different individual learning styles, information that appeals to many senses, and that is planned in hand with the developmental stage of the learner, is a winning combination.
