Kevin Andrea, M.Ed.

Kevin’s educational career spans 38 years in Alberta serving as a teacher, Principal and central office administrator.  A graduate of St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS, he made the move to Alberta in 1983 to begin his teaching career. He completed his MEd from the University of Portland in Oregon with a focus on educational leadership. 

After serving as school superintendent for 15 years in the Northern Gateway Public School Division in northwest Alberta Kevin retired in 2021. Throughout his tenure, Kevin has maintained a focus on supporting classroom educators and empowering school administrators in providing quality, student-centered education. 

Originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia Kevin spends much of his time near the ocean with family.  Hockey, golf, east coast music and travel are among some of his interests. 

He resides on an acreage south of Spruce Grove, Alberta with his wife, Joanie, who teaches elementary school in the Town of Stony Plain. Together they have two children, Caitlin currently a high school teacher in Spruce Grove and Sean, a Child and Adolescent psychiatrist working in Calgary.
