I have been privileged to work in a variety of communities throughout BC and internationally, including in public, independent, and alternate school settings. I have worked as a school counsellor, behavioural support, administrator, and in district counselling and capacity-building roles. Outside of schools, I have been honoured to support youth and adults in substance use recovery settings and in career transitional contexts.
I have been teaching in City University’s school counselling program since 2022, and currently teach the Ethics and Legal Issues and Career Counselling courses.
Research
I am passionate about capacity-building in school systems and communities, particularly in the areas of trauma-informed practice, mental health literacy, harm-reduction approaches, cultural competency, and digital well-being.
Teaching
I believe that learning is most impactful when content is relevant and learning is collaborative and experiential. In my classes, I strive to ensure that individual experiences and prior learning are honoured and included, and to draw direct connections to students’ professional roles and contexts.
