Wendy Higenbottam

Associate Faculty

Wendy brings over 20 years of experience working with children and youth in diverse educational and therapeutic settings. She began her career as an art therapist before transitioning into teaching and school counselling. Her current passion lies in advancing school counselling leadership through advocacy, professional learning, and mentorship.

Wendy is completing her Doctor of Education in Educational Policy and Leadership at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include health profession regulation, ethical and legal issues in counselling and education, mental health in schools, inclusion and Indigenous knowledge systems. Wendy is also interested in supporting educational organizations in ethics and policy.

Wendy teaches part-time in the Master of Education in School Counselling and the Master of Counselling programs.
